Malia Halstvedt, LCSW

A native of Hawaii, Malia has taught at Montana State University-Billings since 2011, and spent three years as a therapist at Bitterroot Elementary School in Billings. She's excited to be seeing clients now at Billings Counseling Connection.

Malia specializes in working with adolescents and children, with particular focus on those experiencing stressful life changes (divorce, grief, etc), concerns about ADHD, depression and anxiety, and issues involving personal growth. Malia enjoys working with culturally diverse clients. She has specialized training in treating trauma and PTSD using Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TI-CBT). For fun, she likes to travel, swim, play with her dog, and be with friends and family.
