Nancy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked with adolescents and adults throughout her professional life. She has worked in acute settings like psychiatric hospitals, jails, and group homes, as well as in community-based prevention programs.

Nancy received her Bachelor's degree from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington, and her Master's in Social Work from the University of Minnesota (the other U of M) in St. Paul. She has been in private practice in Billings since 2010.

 

Every therapist has the necessary training to be licensed for the work, but the biggest predictor of success for clients is the quality of the relationship between the client and therapist. That is a two-way street, and that relationship deserves a place at the forefront of the work. ”Nancy has experience with a variety of treatment modalities. She has training in EMDR
and Emotionally Focused Therapy training, as well as Ego State Therapy and Clinical Hypnosis. She has a special interest and training in the area of dissociative disorders and Complex PTSD.

Although she generally does not take on new clients, she does offer professional consultation in dissociative disorders. She also offers a free hour-long lecture to groups of medical or mental health providers.

Nancy believes in the transforming power of relationships and comes at therapy and consultation from a place of hope and strength, believing that we all have the ability to change and grow, no matter how stuck we have become.
